sHOGUN
The shogun was the one truly in control and had a huge impact on the way Medieval Japan worked. Medieval Japan relied a lot on the duties of the shogun, even the emperor required the shogun to continue his rule over Japan and would have been completely difficult to regain control over Japan should the shogun turn against him. The Shogun would be in charge of training and raising an army which should be ready for battle at any time of any day or night. The Shogun was in chage of training the captive children taken as a sign of loyalty from the Daimyo.
dAIMYO
The Daimyo had alot of control over many people including the samurai and The lower classes (refer to Japanese Feudal System). The Daimyo were always fighting against eachother in order to get in the good books of the emperor who had a say in the next shogun. Heyyasu and Hideyoshi were two good examples of Daimyo who were desparate for power. As soon as the prvious shogun (N) had fallen they both hammered at eachother starting wars and taking over Japan in order to get in the good books of the emperor. In the end however Hideyoshi died unexpectedly leaving his underaged son and his trust with Heyyasu. Heyyasu kept his promise for short time after Heyyasu took over control of Hiodeyoshi's land soon starting up again the battle of the Daimyo.
sAMURAI
The Samurai played a very important role in the military as they most the fighting. Both male and female samurai were used in tactical defeneces and tricks. During the seige of Osaka castle Heyyasu used a female samurai to negotiate with the mother of Hideyorui (son of Hideyoshi) to stop the fighting and to lower their defences. When Hideyorui's mother finaly convinced her son to agree, Heyyasu sent an all out attack on Osaka Castle. Surprised and confused Hideyorui was killed and his castle nearly completely destroyed along with everybody inside.
The samurai trained with four types of swords; the long sword, the short sword, the samurai sword (a sort of medium sized sword) and the dual swords (Two identical swords even in weight).

The seven Virtues of the Samurai
The samurai trained keeping in mind the seven virtues. Which were: Rectitude, Honesty, Courage, Honour, Benevolence, Loyalty and Respect. These virtues were taken seriously by both samurai women and men and were also followed up in the further ranks of the japanese military. Samurai would grow up learning and practicing the seven virtues of the samurai.
Matters of War
Usually all three of the miitary ranks would wear magnificent woollen coverings which hid the almost impenatrable armour below. The armour was light weight, allowing samurai to move swiftly and effectively. The samurai would carry two swords unless they are trained to use the dual swords in which case they would carry three swords. hey ready to die in battle and would rather die in battle than to be rescued, Because it was considered to be dishonourable and would bring shame to their family.
